Annual Fund for Kids
"Investing in our kids today for successful adults tomorrow."

Why an Annual Fund?
While we receive generous support from the United Way and other sources, this funding does not begin to cover the cost of delivering our programs. We purposely keep our membership fees low at $25 per year, so that children in the greatest need of our services have the ability to receive them. To meet the increasing demand for our services, we need your help. Your annual fund investment gives you the power to help our children succeed. The impact of the Boys and Girls Clubs in the lives of our children is clear:

  • 87% of club kids finish high school as compared to 66% of all young people in the USA.

  • The college graduation rate for club kids is 56% higher than the national average.
Seaford police reported a 62% decrease in juvenile crime after the Western Sussex Club opened.

  • 60% of participants in our educational enhancement programs have increased at least one letter grade in each subject tutored.

What does your contribution do?
Here are some examples of what your investment can provide:

  • $1,000 pays for one member to attend Summer Fun Club for 10 weeks.

  • $500 pays for all events, programs, and activities for one child for a year.

  • $250 pays for one member's homework help or computer skills enhancement.

  • $100 pays for ten weeks of specialized instruction by local artists in our Fine Arts Program.

  • And, our low administration costs (only 12%) means more money is allocated directly to programs and services that benefit our kids.

How can you help?
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware has grown dramatically in the past 10 years, but there is still much more to be done. Just consider:

  • Our program locations have expanded from five to 26 locations statewide.

  • Club membership has increased from 3,200 to more than 15,000 kids - an increase of close to 400%!

  • A recent study identified 15,000 additional children who would greatly benefit from the opportunities that the clubs offer.

Your help is needed to make sure that every child who needs our help has the opportunity to receive it!
