The Program

The Appoquinimink Boys & Girls Club has planned an exciting program for the summer of 2007! Our state licensed program features age appropriate indoor and outdoor sports, arts & crafts activities, swimming, computer acitivities, special events, and much more! Our facilities are air-conditioned to provide a comfortable environment for your child. Each week, special trips will be scheduled to places such as the Philadelphia Zoo, the Baltimore Aquarium, and the Blue Diamond Amusement Park.

 

Age Groups
All campers will be placed in groups with children of similar ages. The age groups will be as follows: 6 -7 years old, 8 -9 years old, and 10 - 12 years old.
 
13 - 15 years old: Teen Leaders Program
Teens will participate in leadership training activities for four weeks. Following the training, teens will be placed with younger age groups to assist camp counselors with activitiesl. Training includes Camp Leadership, Child Development, Values Education, Job Interviewing, Communication, and Group Work.
Group is limited to 8 participants per week.
 
Important Information
The Summer Fun Club runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. June 11 through August 24, 2007. Extended hours are available at an additional charge from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Note that extended care is not considered part of the structured camp day.
Parents must provide a nutritious, ready-to-eat lunch for their children.
 
Field Trips
All field trips are mandatory and require an additional fee as well as a signed permission slip. Children who do not attend a field trip must make alternate arrangements for care on trip days. All children must wear a camp tee-shirt on field trip days!
 
Camp Respite
If you are 60 years of age or older and are raising your grandchildren or the children of relatives, you may be eligible for a camp scholarship. Contributions are based on a sliding scale. Call or stop by the Club for more details.

Registration Information

Registration will begin on March 1, 2007. You must register in person at the Club during operating hours.

Parents must provide a copy of child’s recent HEALTH APPRAISAL REPORT before he or she will be admitted to camp.

 

Fees

Camp (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.): $105 per week

Extended Hours ( 7 - 9 a.m. & 4 - 6 p.m.): $20 per week

 

New members and renewal memberships also pay the yearly 

Club membership fee of $25.

 

Tee-Shirt Fee: $

Payments accepted by check, money order, credit card, debit card, or cash.
